Chocolate Cake


Get that cake a baking…
150g Chocolate (dark chips, 60% – 70% coco solids)
150g Sugar
125g Butter (chopped up)
55g Plain Flour
3 Eggs

Method

Melt chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan of boiling water and add in sugar and butter. Crack 3 eggs into a bowl (both whites and yokes) and whisk up a little.

Heat the oven to 180ºC.

Get a cake tin, put some melted butter around the sides of it, and put a disk of grease proof paper in the bottom of it.

Once the chocolate etc. is melted add in the 3 beaten eggs and stir around. Add in the flour and fold into the mixture. Empty into the cake tin and put in the oven for around 40 to 50 minutes (nearer 40 probably).

 

Covering Glaze

110g Chocolate
45g Butter
2 tablespoons Milk

Method

Melt the above together, cool, put over the cake. Pour over the cake whilst the glaze is still a bit warm so that is can drizzle over the cake easily.
